Kyle Vowinkel is a retired FBI senior executive, former Hostage Rescue Team operator, crisis negotiator, West Point graduate, and former U.S. Army officer. Across more than three decades of service, he operated in environments where leaders had to make consequential decisions with incomplete information, coordinate teams through rapidly changing conditions, and influence people at moments of extreme resistance.

 

At the time of his retirement, Kyle was one of only five FBI agents to have served on both the Hostage Rescue Team and Crisis Negotiation Unit. His experience includes persuading the surviving Boston Marathon bomber to surrender and leading high-consequence operations in the United States and overseas.

 

Today, Kyle delivers keynotes and immersive leadership programs for corporate, government, association, law-enforcement, and university audiences. He translates extraordinary operations into practical frameworks for decision-making, influence, self-regulation, and coordinated execution.

 

Kyle is also a TEDx Miami speaker and the author of the forthcoming book, Shaping Chaos: Leadership Lessons Forged in the FBI’s Most Dangerous Operations.
